In Haiti:

Pastor Firmin Louis

From Pastor Firmin: My wife and I have been married since July 17th 1992.  We are blessed with 6 children. I was saved in 1991, but was not really  committed to God. My wife was already under the umbrella of God. Four  years later I felt the need to grow closer to God. That prompting led me to  a Bible school in Jamaica. Though it was very challenging, God provided  not only for me but for my wife and two of our kids from 1996 to 1998. It  was a tremendous experience. There we learned what it means to live by  faith, with literally no human support. God has met our needs according to  His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!! After graduation we came  back with a mission: “Promoting the kingdom and the righteousness of God  in the hearts of men.” Thus, New Destiny In Christ Ministry came into  existence. Now we are leading the Blessings Christian Church and have founded the Children’s New Destiny Foundation Home.

Ronald Charles: Child Advocate

Since Pastor Firmin’s stroke in April, 2018, Bread to the Nations’ leaders have recognized that the household could benefit from someone who would be available to provide extra support to the children and help with activities and tasks that Firmin once handled for BttN. Ronald Charles joined the BttN team in Haiti to fill this role.

Ronald is no stranger to Bread to the Nations and its leaders. He has served as an interpreter for BttN teams in past years. He is also familiar with the work of Bread to the Nations, believes in the mission and is excited to be part of the team.

Ronald grew up in the same neighborhood as the Louis family in Carrefour. He attended public school in Haiti because his family did not have the financial means to send him to a private school. Unfortunately, there are very few (free) public schools in Haiti. But determined to get an education, Ronald spent much of his school-age years walking to school several hours one way. Ronald is self-taught in English and began interpreting for teams in 2012. The past five years he has served as a team leader and interpreter for Praying Pelicans Mission.

Ronald also acts as the liaison between Bread to the Nations and the Building Strong Families Initiative in Pastor Firmin’s church community. We are grateful for Ronald and his desire to come alongside the next generation in Haiti to make a positive impact in their lives!

Pierre Richard:  Clean Water Manager

Pierre has also been a long term friend of Bread to the Nations. He is a dedicated and hard working employee who has a genuine heart to serve his people. Pierre lives with his wife and four children near Blessings Christian Church and serves as a deacon in the church and a Building Strong Families’ leader.
