The mission of Bread to the Nations is to build up and support the Church and Family in Haiti.  Our first goal is to deepen the relationships and provide encouragement to the local church and its leaders one church at a time.

  1. Look for and ask for God’s presence in our relationships

  2. Work through the Church in Haiti

  3. Encourage Haitian ownership and leadership in all ongoing activities

  4. All U.S. involvement is on a volunteer basis

Our Model

Scriptural Values

Be the hands and feet of Jesus to the least of these, especially orphans and widows

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. — James 1:27

Reach the unreached with the Gospel and make disciples
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. — Matthew 28:19

Promote justice and advocate for the poor
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. — Isaiah 1:17

Listen and learn and not assume our ways are superior
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. — Ephesians 4:2

Be purposeful with our time
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. — Ephesians 5:15-17

Build lasting relationships at home and abroad
Love your neighbor as yourself. — Matthew 22:38

Empower through education and training
Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance. — Proverbs 1:5

Remember it’s not about us
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. — Luke 9:23-24

Be accountable and good stewards of money and resources
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. — 1 Peter 4:10

Promote financial independence and sustainability
